Cubmasters Corner:
Hello Cub Scouts and Families,
Welcome to 2012! I’m sure it will be a great year of fun at Pack 619. I hope everyone had a great holiday and a fun winter vacation from school. It’s hard to believe we are actually halfway through the Scouting year. How is everyone doing on their advancements? You should be most of the way done with your advancements if you want to earn your rank in April. Only three short months left! This will be the last Pack meeting for the Webelos II’s. We wish them well as they walk down the path toward becoming proud men in Boy Scouts.
January hosts our annual Pinewood Derby. Mr. Golter and other adult helpers have once again done a wonderful job making this the showcase of scouting competition that it is. We all thank you volunteers for your efforts in making this such a fun and rewarding time! We also have our electronics and swimming sleepover at Millennium Center on January 28th. Make sure to sign up ASAP with Dayna Gouwens if you are going.
We’re looking forward to the month of February. Is everyone working on their centerpiece and skit for the Blue and Gold Banquet on Saturday, Feb. 18th? This year’s theme is “Scouting Rocks.” Each den is responsible for a skit and an edible dessert centerpiece.
We are still looking for some replacement positions. I will be moving on out of the pack a year from now and will need a replacement Cubmaster, registration chair, and website administrator. Please become a larger part of your son’s scouting experience and create memories which will last a lifetime by stepping up and filling an open position. It is a very rewarding feeling to positively impact the lives of young scouts.
Thank you and Happy Scouting
Todd Praneis
